CEDAR FENCE STYLES

Cedar is the foundational material that Mae Fence Company’s fencing roots have derived from. Further, Cedar is what the owner’s (Tim) great grandfather first used when his dream of starting a generational fencing company came to fruition. Before aluminum products were readily accessible and vinyl fencing was not yet a thought in the minds of fence construction, Cedar was the be all end all, so to speak.

Choosing the right fence boils down to four key details: safety, beauty, privacy, and added value. Cedar is one of the few products that will give you these essential benefits and more. Below are some of the Cedar Fence styles.

Arbors

Arbors may be added to any wood fence. We offer 2-Post and 4-Post arbors with an option of a Crescent or Traditional style. Our arbors are 4’ wide.

The style of each arbor may vary a touch depending on customer preference.

Board on Batton

Like the Shadow Box style above, the Board on Batton style is the exact same, however, now we see the pickets all on one side of the rail, instead of on either. See below:

Horizontal Rail

This style utilizes our 6” Cedar Pickets with a 2’x 2” cedar brace in the center of the panel. The posts for this style of fence are set 6’ apart and is available in solid and spaced, with spacing available of approximately 1” or 2”. Cedar posts are still used with this horizontal pattern.

Ornamental Top

Picket

We offer all the cuts and board top styles as our privacy fences, but with spacing, which brings up to our Picket Fence style. The standard spacing between pickets on this style is 2” to add visibility.

Colors

Mae Fence Company offers two color varieties for vinyl fencing: White and Tan. You will be given samples of the colors we offer during training.

Ornamental Top

Picket

Our vinyl Picket Fences use 5’x 5’ posts, just like our Privacy Fences. The pickets used on our picket fences are spaced 2” apart. Each picket is 3” wide by 1” in depth.

Privacy

Mae Fence Company offers Lattices that a customer may desire to add to the top of their fence.

Rail

Ranch Rail is a style of fence in which the panels are made of vertical rails. The number of rails on this style of fence may range from 2 to 4 rails depending on the preference of the customer. The vertical rails on this style of fence are approximately 6” wide by 1” in depth. The spacing between rails depends on the number of rails used on the construction of the fence.

This style of fence is also built using fitted construction and is custom. Please reach out to the office for pricing and availability of this style of fence.

Semi-Privacy

Here we have, essentially, the same design as our Solid Privacy Fence, however, this pattern is what is referred to as “Semi-Privacy”. Below is an example of a Semi Privacy fence, which is considered a “custom” design. If a customer is interested in this style of fence, please reach out to the office for pricing.

Shadow Box

Shadow Box is a style of fence that is essentially double sided. The pickets are hung on either side of the rail and are staggered 2” apart to create this look. We can apply the arch, rolling arch or scallop to the shadow box with either a DE board or cut top. A Lattice may also be added to the Shadow Box.

Solid Privacy

The Solid Privacy Cedar Fence is Mae Fence’s most popular and enduring style . It is a classic design that comes to mind when you picture a traditional wood fence.
